Cardox System

Cardox - Blockage clearing system

CARDOX TUBE:

EXAMPLE: Concrete breaking
Complete CARDOX tube, means ready for use one, consists of the following elements:
  • Activating / firing head
  • Tube (body)
  • Discharge head
  • Chemical energiser named "safety heater"
  • Repture disc with fibre washer
  • Liquid CO2 (carbon dioxide)
  • Optional locking device

Activating / firing head could be make with additional thread which is used to mount optional head with eye-bolt. This eye-bolt is used typically for safety rope. The rope is very usefull when operating the Cardox tube in deep tanks or conatiners and it would be used for removal of the tube from crashed material after use as well. The safety rope is highly recommended when the tube clamping is not possible.

How it works:

Cardox tube consists of a high strength reusable steel tube filled with liquid carbon dioxide (CO2), a chemical energiser and a repture disk.

When energised by the application of a small electric charge, the chemical heater instantly converts the liquid carbon dioxide to a gas. This conversion expands the CO2 volume and builds up pressure inside the tube until it causes the repture disk at the end of the tube to burst. This releases the CO2 - now 600 times the original volume - through a special discharge nozzle to create a powerful heaving force, at pressures up to 3,000 bar (300 MPA).

Cardox can dislodge over 3 tons of blockage in single blast. This all takes place in miliseconds. In addition the quick release of the gas refrigerates the discharge, bringing it to temperature low enough to avoid ingnition of any air-gas mixturea inside the blocked vessel or blockage.

Depending on electic power applied (used) it is possible to energise up to twelve Cardox tubes simultanously.
